Have the expectations for an Obama administration been raised too high?

I'm a) a Brit, and b) pro-Obama, so this isn't meant as a baiting question, but I've been reading answers here that say "Once Obama's President, America will become a peaceful, loving nation" etc. Are we in danger here of raising the expectations way too high and utopian? After all, Senator Obama isn't against wars per se - he intends to redouble efforts in Afghanistan for instance...As I say, I'm pro-Obama, but is there waaaay too much Kool-Aid being drunk here? And if so, what happens when he turns out to be only human when in office?
