Photoshop selection tool CS5 problem?

hi...i m new to photoshop CS5....and since last week i m havin a major problem with using the selection tool for croppin pictures.....when i select an object in a pic using selection tool and choose option REFINE EDGE ......the pic is cropped successfuly into another window........but wen i drag that pic to another window( or transfer it by any other method)....although the pic is transferd to the other window( tab in photoshop) but its size increases to almost 100% of its size....i want its size to remain same.....i hve written this problem in many forums but none hve given me an answer....pls help
