Introducing propane into the combustion section of jet engines?
has anyone experimented with introducing propane into the pre-igniton area of a jet engine to increase efficiency and power output? this is being done in diesel truck engines with exceptional results. the propane in introduced into the air charge to each cylinder and creates a longer burn of the fuel /air mixture, resulting in a more complete burn of the diesel fuel and an enormous increase in horsepower. therfore i was wondering if adding a variable amount of propane gas to the compressed air before it get to the fuel nozzles would optimize or increase the thrust of jet engines since jet and diesel engines work on rudely the same principle?
