Help! My songs got deleted of my ipod!?

I was trying to add a song onto my ipod but it kept saying there wasn't any room left, although my ipod fits 1,000 songs and I had 950 on my itunes library, and said do you want to not add checked off podcasts. So I said yes and then tried again. It then said there still was no room but it would create a special playlist with selected songs and so I clicked yes and noticed it didn't have all my songs on it so I stupidly deleted the playlist. Then a pop up showed saying it can no longer sync songs onto ipod because the playlist "Cindy's Ipod" got deleted. I turned on my ipod and ALL 950 songs on my ipod were deleted! But they are still on the itunes library. Please help!
