How do you get a bit of that clic Robert Redford/Paul Newman look/persona?

Since Newman died yesterday morning, I've been thinking of how cool he and his counterparts really were. They always seemed so graceful, so elegantly cool, refined. How does one channel just a little bit of that energy. What was it that made him so good?
