Question regarding comunication with my girlfreind.?

here is the situation. I just started goeing out with this girl on thursday. she leaves during the week and is only here around my place on the weekends. Anyways when she left today she said that she would tex message me when she got back in next weekend. I was woundering whether I should call her before then, or if her telling me that she was goeing to message me was a sign to leave her alone for the week. Just a little confused, and I dont want to screw anything up by calling, or seeming overbearing.
