Sim (Sims 3) wont use computer?

Hello, I have been a long time sim player, but recently i have discovered a really annoying glitch. whenever I tell my sim to "practice writing" it doesn't click, and if I tell her to find a job, it will let me select her career but then she suddenly disappears from the chair and reappears standing behind it jobless.. I recently re-installed my game, before i did that it worked fine. I also just updated it today.This is very annoying, and i appreciate your help in advance.
